Snow Day

Jacob has been asking to go to the snow so he could have a snowball fight and build a snowman (which he learned from one of his favorite cartoons). We decided to take advantage of Jake and I having time off together and headed to the snow! We had so much fun! We even talked my brother Justin, sister-in-law Aimee, and our nephew Asher to come along too!

Bye Bye Baby

Jake and I decided it was time to turn Jacob's crib into a "Big Boy" Bed. In the process, we moved his furniture around and converted the changing table into a dresser. We also bought him new bedding that I fell in love with when I first saw it months ago. Check out his new bedroom below. I look forward to decorating his room because there is so much we can do with the camping theme.

Merry Christmas to All and to All a Good Night

We had a busy week celebrating Christmas in the good company of our family and friends. It is always so nice to get together with those closest to us and celebrate the ultimate gift Jesus! This year was so much fun because it was the first year Jacob actually understood what was going on. He loved singing Christmas songs and carols and can sing every word of Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer. On Christmas Eve night we left cookies and milk for Santa on the fire place. As Jake and I were getting ready for bed Jacob took a bite out of each cookie. Not knowing it was Jacob I asked Jake if he had taken a bite of each cookie (pretending to be Santa) but he didn't know anything about it :) Little Jacob definitely has a sweet tooth. On Christmas morning, Jacob was surprised to see a Red Tricycle waiting by the tree. By the amount of gifts he received this year he must have been on Santa's good list. We are so blessed to have so many wonderful friends and family which help make the holidays that much sweeter.

Getting into the Christmas Spirit

Jacob really enjoys doing crafts, especially when they involve sweets. So what better way to spend one of mama's days off making Christmas Tree treats for all of his grandparents and aunts and uncles. He had a blast making them and licking the green frosting off his fingers.

Riding on the Santa Fire Truck

Our friends Sean and Vicki Watt invited us to ride the santa fire truck with them this year! Jacob was so excited and had a blast. He even made a few girlfriends haha.

I've been good Santa

Jacob was so anxious to see Santa so he could tell him everything he wanted for Christmas this year. I was a little skeptical about how he would react when he saw him because last year he was scared to death of Santa. When we walked down the stairs to where Santa was, Jacob timidly stuck to my side (and anyone who knows Jacob knows he is not usually shy). I took him up to see Santa and he climbed on his lap. He told Santa he wanted a trike and a Scooby Doo cartoon. The photographer kept trying to get Jacob to smile as she asked him questions about Christmas and he just sat so still with the same timid smirk you see in the picture below. We were able to get a group photo of Jacob and his cousin Asher and friends Keeli and Zander too!
