Our New Home!

The past two years has been quite a roller coaster for Jake and I as we have had quite a house hunting experience. Hearing about the state of the market, we knew it was the right time for us to search for our first home. We started looking at homes in the spring of 2008. After walking through close to 20 homes and never finding the one that was quite right for us we decided to postpone our search in the fall of 2008. Shortly later we found out I was pregnant with Hallie so we put our search on hold until after I had her.

In late January 2010, we received a phone call from my mom telling us that her good friends, who are getting ready to move out of state, were meeting with a realtor to see how much they could put their house on the market for. She thought that we should really take a look at their house, so we decided to go see it. My mom called them back while the realtor was still there and told them that we were very interested, so they agreed not to list the house until we saw it. That night we went over and walked through the house. We fell in love instantly and knew it was the right fit for our family. This was the first house both Jake and I fell in love with and completely agreed upon. You always here people say "when you find the right house you will know it," and that definitely was the case with this one. Excitedly, we made them an offer and they accepted.

We had the house appraised, inspected, and the escrow process is moving right along. We are expecting to close escrow around March 11. We hope to be moved in by our 5 year anniversary! This house couldn't be more perfect for us. It is in a well established neighborhood and close to the schools we were hoping for. It is a little over 1,700 square feet, has a beautiful brick fireplace and patio, and a large master bedroom. It is move in ready which is a plus, but there are also some things which we can fix up and renovate the way we want them. We are so excited to get in there and paint and make this house our home where we can raise our family.
